I can only guess what this question is about, presumably the reaction of the member in the video. The answer was Shiyoutai (none the wiser here).

Question 4 is about who one of the hosts for the 13th single’s senbatsu election was. Answer given by most is ‘Togazaki-san’, which was correct. Guess they didn’t have the fame neccesary then to get someone who didn’t work for them back then.

The next question is ‘who came 22nd in the 3rd Senbatsu Sousenkyou?’, which even I know the answer to is ‘Umeda Ayaka’. They do discuss that Ume-chan getting 22nd and therefore being the Undergirls centre was in effect a better position than Mochikura getting 21st, since I’m honestly struggling to remember Mocchi being in that video at all.

Number 6 has us shown Yukirin’s, Akicha and Rena’s progress in the 3 elections. Yukirin went from 9th, to 8th to 3rd, Akicha from 23rd to 13th to 12th, and Rene from 29th to 11th to 10th. So I guess we want to know who else has had a similar streak. I think it’s Sasshi, but it could be someone else. It was Sasshi, one person said Mariko-sama (she went down in 2011) and Yuttan was suggested as well (probably not even undergirls in 09). Sasshi went from 27, to 19, to 9 (which means she shoul be -3 this election).

We then have a question related to 2006 and a Warota 7 single (Hettapi Wink?). Only one guy got it right I think.

4th round, AKB48 (those two Kanji are important to what the rounds about I just know it.) Might be about the theatre.

Question 1 guess is about what happens after a stage, the answer being the High Touch. 

The next question asks about the six strips of pink tape on each side of the 2 pillars in the theatre. The answer is something ‘roku ju nen’. The number of years since the opening perhaps?

We then have a question about the MVP (forgot what that was I’ll admit). I don;t think anyone got the answer right though.

No idea with the next question at all.

The nexxt question is about signs on 10 of the seats at the back of the theatre. The sign they ask about is about the Super Enpyou.

No idea despite the coloured boxes. I don’t get the answer either.

Question 7 asks about the Shop and Cafe in Akihabara, specifically what member the food shown represents. Yukirina was the member represented it seems.

In the end Amina and one other guy got 26, two points behind the guy leading from the beginning.

AKB48 News: The Tokyo Dome concert date has been announced (and Takamina knew when it was before she filmed the announcement video of the concert itself). The members presented flowers to people, I think it was those awards where they got like 5 of the top 7 places. JKT48 have had their first stage open. Shounen has been released by Watarirouka Hashiritai 7, and Not Yet have released Suika Baby, which we get the PV preview for. Quite news heavy this week.

Okay, why does the PV have Union Flag bunting in it? The Jubilee shouldn’t affect them in anyway.

The stinger is the winner saying some stuff about Minarun.

Are the results out next week? I’ll have to find them.

Takahashi Minami’s Tokyo Dome Announcement

Takahashi begins with an announcement of the Tokyo Dome, but leads us towards a VTR in which she interviews the editor in chief of the largest news publication in the world, Watanabe Tsuneo of Yomiuri Shinbun. (A weird choice to have an interview with the conservative overlord of the Japanese printing press)

I do have to wonder why they told her like that. I’d assumed Aki-P had told her specifically before anyone else, but seems she just found out from a newspaper editor. I guess it was planned though.

AKB0048 #5

Nagisa runs to the bathroom, only to find Orine, Yuka, Chieri and Mimori all struggling to wash in front of the mirror. Kanata, Sonata, Suzuko and Makoto similarly struggle on another mirror. The girls all then enjoy their breakfast, Mayuyu, Sayaka and Takamina are also there (I bet the Senbatsu get individual rooms or something). Mayuyu scares the chef with some aura when there’s no food left.

The Kenkyuusei all head to dance lessons with Shima-sensei, with Nagisa thinking a bit about wanting te centre position, before they find at the dance studio the Shima-sensei isn’t there. Tsubasa explains something to them before leaving. The OP now contains a bit of the girls doing the huddle before starting.

The girls sit around for a bit, before Chieri walks off, Nagisa follows and everyone else then splits off. Sonata and Suzuko go and take a warm bath (I am obliged here to remind you that Sonata is 10), with Sonata remembering that Kanata took away her duck last time she was in the baths. Mayuyu suddenly turns out to be there, and starts squeezing Sonata’s … torso… Meanwhile, Kanata and Mimori train Makoto in stamina by haing her pull a sled of bricks around. Kojiharu appears and drags Kanata and Makoto off to imporve their sexy appeal I think, Mimori’s already good enough I think, although Sayaka and Sae then grab hold of her, and don’t put up with her attempt to use her sexiness to get out of it.

Yuka and Orine are helping to do the washing up, the chef leaves them to it, Tomochin then arrives asking if any food is left, so they quickly whip some up for her.

Nagisa follows Chieri, who’s been doing some clothes shopping. She then pushes Chieri over when a man runs over, who had actually simply wanted to tell Chieri the label was still attached to the skirt she was wearing. She then jumps in the way of what she assumes to be a paparazzi trying to get Chieri’s photo, but it’s only Yuuko.

Suzuko is looking through AKB CDs at the song listing with Sonata, and says something about GIVE ME FIVE!’s, when Yukirin comes and takes the CDs from Suzuko, and says something I’m sure was Black-hearted. The two then leave, and spy Tsubasa talking on the phone to someone about sensei. Suzuko then takes Sonata out of the building.

Yuka and Orine help Tomochin takes things to her home, where they meet her mother, who also looks like Tomochin (I’d assumed members who made Senbatsu had something done to them so they looked like the original, guess they have to look like them. Only Nagisa’s going to make Senbatsu then. I guess Suzuko could be the next Sasshi though). Nevermind, seems the house just has the current, and three former Tomochin’s living there, along with pictures of all (9?) of them. Theres also a man Tomochin calls Papa though. I don’t know whats going on.

Kojiharu is having Kanata and Makoto balance books on their heads, while Sayaka and Sae seem to be teaching Mimori not to use her sex appeal so much.

Yuuko shows Chieri and Nagisa some photos, including one of Acchan, who it seems created the greatest reaction from Kirara ever, which is why she was Centre, but nowadays no-one’s able to give that reaction, so each song has it’s own Centre.

Each Senbatus member currently with Kenkyuusei then gives them a speech which might be all of them saying similar stuff at the same time.

At a oden cart Suzuko sees Tsubasa and Shima-sensei drinking together. Sonata has been too busy finding a cat however.

Nagisa and Chieri have been practicing dance steps, and realise they’ve drawn attention to themselves, only to get applauded after Nagisa flusteredly tries to apologise. Yuka and Orine attempt to mimic Tomochin’s mouth to see if they can be the next, with all 4 Tomochin’s saying the same thing about it. At the same time. Makoto and Kanata seem to have gotten the hang of what Kojiharu teaches them, while Mimori is still struggling.

Tsubasa and Shima-sensei find Suzuko and Sonata both asleep after spying on them, and says somthing about it, Shima-sensei says it could be a problem, calling her Mariko-sama ( I like to think the noise she made was embaressment.)

Lets see if I do any better with the second episode of this quiz.

The scores after the first round have one guy with 6, 2 with 7, Amina and two others with 8 and one other with 9 (full marks?).

The sceond round of the quiz is on members, reminding us of the 4 current teams. Apparently we have 89 members (does that include the Kenkyuusei?).

The first question is about a member who makes use of twitter, though I think there’s more to it than that. The answer is Mariko-sama. I think the question is which member made it to the Twitter japan top 100 most followed or something, if it is I’m one of the followers. Not that I’ve used twitter in monthst mind. I think it might bewho was 4th in the ranking.

The next question is about members named Haruka. The image shows in order Ishida Haruka, Katayama Haruka, Shimazaki Haruka, Nakagawa Haruka and Shimada Haruka. All but Shimada have their nicknames under their names, Harukyan, Haachan, Paruru and Harugon. The question is what Shimada’s is. It’ll be bad if they get it wrong since she’s in the room and everything. Most answer corrdctly with Haruu.

The next question has something to do with Senbatsu. Given every answer is Kojima, the question is clearly asking who has been inn every Senbatsu since the major debut, which Kojiharu alone can lay claim to. Being correct confirms it. Of course it is thanks to Sayaka that Acchan doesn’t also have that claim. We then get one contestant making haiku about Acchan and Sayaka. There seems to be one for each member, Paruru doesn’t seem to like hers. I’m not sure how Mochi feels about hers.

Question 4 is something about a theatre debut, they show the clip from Yui-han’s promotion, but the answer to the question is Oya Shizuka. Seems she was promoted at request hour 2009 (I guess the actual question was ‘aside from the member in this clip, which member was promoted from Kenkyuusei outside of a theatre event?’). We also see a clip of Akicha’s promotion.

The next question is about the 13th gen, possibly about the number of auditionees. The answer is 4 something, but I don’t know what the kanji meant.Actually I think it might be related to which gen Gen 13 it has the same number of auditionees from, or which gen saw the first kenkyuusei as part of it.

The 6th question involves Team B Oshi and Kitarie (who follows her perhaps? If so it’s Kana-chan). Or maybe it’s who it was specifically at the Seibu Dome concert, which is far less certain, since I’ve seen a recent performance where half the members are subbed for Team 4. I guess it was just who follows her.

I honestly haven’t a clue what this question is asking. It must have something to do with that concert. The answers are exclusively Yukirin and Kana-chan. Yukirin was correct.

The next question is who the smile belongs to. Kojima, Tomochin and Kitarie are the answers I heard. I think Nyan Nyan. No it’s Kitarie. Surprising. I think the reason the guy who got it right gave was that Harunyan’s teeth are straighter.

And now we have to guess who a nose belongs to. There really isn’t a consensus, Acchan, Yukirin, Sasshi, Miyu are all suggestions. The guy who guessed Miyu turned out to be right, to everyone else’s shock, including hers.

The scores are more varied now. A dirrerent guy is trailing with 11, former loser has 12, two 14s, two 15s, one of them being Amina, and the same guy in the lead with 16.

The third round is on events.

The first question is about some Yamauchi said to a fan at a Handshake event. The answer is ‘surishu’ as far as I can tell. This somehow leads to discussion of Miyuki’s cleavage getting her a tonne of googutasu comments and +1s.

The next question is about the Saitama Super Arena concert. Whatever the question was the answer was ‘gotosteki’ apparently.

AKB news reminds us of Managuu having been released (apparently it’s already shipped 2 million copies, but the don’t say this). Not Yet will release Suika Baby next week, as will Watarirouka Hashiritai 7 release Shounen, which we get the PV from. Not sure which I prefer if I’m honest (just give Yui a solo debut already, Mayuyu and Sasshi both got one).

Thanks to the miracle of subtitles I’m able to watch the episodes of AKB0048 back, so I can pick up some of the key points of the episodes. I’ll do this every now and again.

Ep 01
Chieri is the only one to have seen 0048 beforehand, and introduces the others to it. Also somehow I missed the overture playing in this scene.
The Senbatsu idols in this scene are 13th gen Acchan, 10th gen Sayaka, 10th gen Sae, 3rd Model Mayuyu, 6th gen Yukirin, 9th gen Yuuko, 11th gen Tomochin, 8th gen Kojiharu and 5th gen Takamina.
The girl in command is Mariko-sama (no idea what gen) but it’s clearly Tsubasa. The mecha are called Guardian angels apparently. Nagisa’s heart started beating with the music, causing Chieir’s Kirara to go over to her (before being Chieri’s I should say).
The girl piloting the Guardian Angel isn’t identified.

Lancastar is the name of the planet Nagisa and the others live on. Apparently the 0048 concert was the worst thing to happen in 4 years. Orine’s family are all dead it seems.
The audition is open to anyone, but the girls had to audition digitally due to the enetertainment ban on Lancastar (I think).
Yuka wants to succeed Mariko-sama, Orine wants to succeed Sasshi, but the other say she doesn’t fit the image. Yuka and her boyfriend apparently aren’t official yet.
Apparently Tsubasa has a great one she calls on the use the great lyric to select auditionees for the second round. Aki-P survives as a computer?
Apparently Lancastar has yet to fully lift the entertainment ban, so Nagisa’s father wants her to take down her AKB0048 poster down.
Interestingly, Nagisa’s father, who’s recently been made head of the bureau of entertainent or something, isn;t against Nagisa going because of the entertainment, but because Anti-entertainment radicals or DES forces might target the audition.
Yuka’s boyfriend says he won’t love her if she does become an idol.

Ep 2
News bulletins say the heiress of the Zodiac corporation is missing or kidnapped.
The crew are looing for Sonata because she stowed away and stole food. She gives Suzuko her autograph to keep quiet, but changes Suzuo’s name to Linda.
Chieri was on Lancastar four years ago for the summer.
Sonata stowed away because she didn’t pass the first round, and so didn’t get a digital ticket to attend the audition. Suzuko makes some points how Sonata’s height (less then 154cm) emeans she;s more likely to make it, and her hair is similar to that of the popular 3rd gen Paruru.
The girls first suspect Chieri’s on the ship when the crew ask about her. When Chieri talks to Nagisa while disguised she says she ought to try to get rid of her so there’s one less rival.

Tsubasa cnverses with Sensei and following the mention of tears dispatches the Flying Get (the ship) to intercept the first transport with the girls on.

Chieri confuses me a but here, but I think it;s safe to say she isn;t quite as Nagisa remembers her.

The Kirara glowing represents potential as an idol, Nagisa demostrates she has it by refusing to leave Chieri and wanting to work as a team.

We get confirmation from the rocket launcher in her arm that the Version 3 Idol Cyborg is, in fact, a cyborg.

While heading toward the Flying Get both Nagisa and Chieir wonder if they actually have idol potential. Nagisa because the Kirara didn’t follow her, and Chieri because Kirara never glowed for her.

The Flying Get’s lightspeed is called Kirara Drive. I wonder if this scene means Yukirin will be the next producer.

AKB0048 #4

Doing it late because it wasn’t up yestersay when I tried to.

So it turns out the AKB0048 theatre and the ship are not the same. The girls have just arrived at the theatre, having been accepted as Kenkyuusei. The 7 girls and Tsubasa are stood at the back behind the crowd of wotas. The opening MC starts with the last two main characters coming on stage. The two girls, of the 75th gen, are Shinonome Kanata (Harukyan) and Kishida Mimori (Suu-chan). I don;t know if the song they sing is meant to be an existing AKB one or not, I don’t recognise it. Sonata all of a sudden starts cheering out support for Kanata. The overture plays as the two girls leave the stage. And now we see the Senbatsu sing Heavy Rotation (sing more theatre songs damnit!).

Tsubasa shows the 77th gen to the dressing room, where Sonata immediately glmps her sister, Kanata. Kanata seems annoyd and demands to know why Tsubasa brought her there, and learns her sister is now a Kenkyuusei. Tsubasa sorts Kanata out, and Mimori introduces her self, with her top slipping when she bows.

The 77th gen are shown around the place they’ll be living, meeting the cook, as well as finding their living quaters, which Makoto is surprisingly excited about. Kanata shows Yuka, Makoto, Orine and Sonata to their assigned dorm. Sonata tries to talk to her sister, who simply leaves. Nagisa, Chieri and Suzuko are sharing another dorm. Mimori breifly remembers the rest of her generation leaving. Our initial trio talk about the room, when Suzuko shows the several pictures of former Senbatsu members, including Miichan, Yuuko (I think they said), Yui-han and Acchan. Actually I think those four with the clear pictures may be the last 4 centres (with current  Yuuko seemingly being the current). Speak of the devil, she appears and says stuff about being Centre, and then gives each of them a push.

The first three then climb up the stairs to see Sonata and Kanata arguing, with Mimori watching, before Sonata storms off. Later Kanata and Mimori are in their room together, and Kanata talks about Sonata, while our first three girls bring some food out for Sonata. Kanata explain how her and Sonata’s father was killed by the DES, which is her reason to join 0048, revenge.

Nagisa wakes up from a dream where she was at home still. Chieri’s Kirara then floats over to her, before floating bak to Chieri, who walks sleepily out of the dorm. The 9 Kenkyuusie all ride on the train to their dance lessons. Kanata and sonata aren’t speaking. Part of the lesson is styled like the performances from the stages, and part 2D, the girls get instructed to be more animated or be faster. After more training the instructor singles out Kanata for her dancing not being up to scratch, even swappingher position with Chierr’s in the line-up. Chieri says something, and Kanata runs off, Mimori chasing, while the rest look at Chieri, Sonata starts having a breakdown and the instructor ends the lesson.

Nagisa confronts Chieri in the bathroom, before Yuka drags her away.

Kanata walks around sadly, and sees an AKB0048 CM, and then sits down by the river, before Mimori comes up to her singing. Mimorie keeps singing as Kanata tries to block it out, and starts crying. Mimori gives her some encouragement, and then they bothe start singing the song together. Sonata then calls for her, and the sisters make up, and all eight girls start singing the song together, while Chieri appears to board a train elsewhere.

I’ll admit this weeks episode looks from the beginning to be a difficult one for me. I believe thers some kind of quiz going on. There are four categories it seems, Members and AKB48 being two of them, I assume the others are stuff like history, the theatre or the sister groups. There are 7 contestants, six of them being male idols from various groups by the look of things, and the seventh being Amina. I assume there’s some reason why her rather than anyone else, we’ll see.

The first category seems to be on the singles (all 25 major singles). Okay scratch that, there are 328 songs to be called upon apparently, obviously including theatre songs.

The first question only has two words I recognise. One is AKB48 and the other I only know is JOYSOUND. Apparently there was 225 something. The answer across the board is Heavy Rotation, so everyone is correct. I think this was what song runs for that amount of seconds or something.

The next question is about something in 2009. The answer is Shonichi according to everyone (I forget what Shonichi is though). I guess it was about the first B-side not to be sung by the Senbatsu (wait until it turns FIRST LOVE was first). Shonichi was correct. Maybe it was what song was first performed live at the Request Hour 2009, that seems to fit.

Question 3 is what ranked 78 at the Request Hour 2008 (how are we supposed to know that I wonder?). Pretty much every answer is the overture, just some worte in romanji and some in katakana. Which is correct, apparently it’s by DJ Taz (how does overture even qualify for request hour?). All of the contestants except Amina then do the mixi to the overture.

The fourth question has something to do with the jacket cover for Oogoe Diamond, which SKE48’s Matsui Jurina made her debut in. There is some variation here, soe answers were Mariko, but Amina at least didn’t say that. Mariko was the right answer though, to Amina’s embaressment. It’s now clear the question is what Jurina was shouting on the cover, which was, in fact, ‘Mariko-sama’. We then get a bit of talk about how dedicated some of the fans are.

The fifth question is about who the first Kenkyuusei was to make Senbatsu, in Namida Surpirse (I should know this. Is it Sasshi? No wait Komorin or Moeno). Most answer with Komorin but one says Myao (don’t think that was Amina this time though). Of course it was Komorin.

Question six is about the words in the MIX. I can’t tell what they said the answer was but they all said the same. ‘Ketcha’ apparently.

The next question revolves around a concert on the 23rd of august 2008, specifically which Kenkyuusei (I suspect all of them were at the time) joined Moeno, Sasshi and Myao in singin Glass no I Love You at said concert. There are varied answers, Kitarie is favoured, but Suu-chan and Mocchi are also suggested. Kitarie was correct, you can tell it wasn’t Mocchi when the camera looked at her. One guy then demonstrates an ability to create a sequence linking the last character of one members name to the first of anothers to reach Kitarie as the fifth girl. They do notice he used Yukirin both times though.

For question eight Suzuran is given some headphones, and has to dance to the song playing through them, which only she hears, and the contestants have to guess the song. This one is incredibly varied in the answers. The correct answer is Pontail to Shushu.

Question 9 has Mocchi do the same. Again the answers are varied, and the correct answer is one I recognise but can’t name. It was Iiwake’s B-side if that helps.

Liking Suika Baby PV, but still prefer PeraPera. Was still great to watch though.
